These are our predictions on some travel trends we will see in 2024. Are you joining in on any of these? Let us know!
Slowcation
According to Pinterest, this year, people will plan trips that take it extra slow—and help them catch up on some precious z’s. Gen Z and Millennials will retreat to laid-back locales that offer the opposite of a jam-packed itinerary.
Fewer nights out on the town, more lazy mornings in bed.
Take it slow by the beach in SoCal at the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach or in the Texas Hill Country at Miraval Austin.
Eurocation, “Off-Season”
Off season in Europe doesn’t exist this spring and fall. Europe’s popular destinations like Spain, France, Italy and Greece are seeing increased visitors in the shoulder season months of April-May and September-October.
If you’re planning to visit to Europe during this time, I’d advise to start planning 4-6 months in advance. There are big sports events happening in Europe this summer that’s going to further increase traffic into these destinations and Taylor Swift’s Eras tour.
- Euro 2024 (Germany, June – July)
- Tour de France (starting in Italy for the first time June – July)
- Olympics (Paris, July – August).
- Taylor Swift Eras Tour (May – August)

Skip-Generational Travel
Skip-gen travel describes when grandparents vacation with their grandchildren and skip a generation. It could be a local trip to a place that has sentimental meaning for the grandparents or an out of country adventure to create core memories together.
This type of trip brings a wealth of benefits to both parties – increased well-being for grandparents through exploration and teaching while children gain knowledge about their heritage.
Need ideas? Take a roadtrip to an old destination you haven’t visited in years. Or explore new wonders together on a cruise through the Galapagos.
Millennial Cruising
A recent survey by industry trade group Cruise Line Industry Association (CLIA) found that 88 percent of millennials who have previously cruised say they plan to sail again. Travelers are drawn to cruise lines that are marketing inclusivity, fun and elevated experiences with adventure.
On my recent cruise with Virgin Voyages, adults of all ages were onboard with family, friends and even solo to enjoy a fun, economical and easy vacation. Consider cruising when you’re planning your next reunion!
We help our clients get extra on cruises, think special pricing, onboard credit, priority boarding, speciality dining, just to name a few!
